The idea of good mental health doesn't just mean the absence of symptoms. It means being able to manage your everyday life, such as work, relationships, and study competently. For example, it is normal to feel sad, lonely, and disappointed at times as they are part of being human. However, when they persist and don't have causes that seem to justify them and interfere with your ability to lead and enjoy everyday life, then it is important to talk with a health professional such as a GP or counsellor.
